About
A sliding counterweight for quickly rebalancing a small telescope when swapping eyepieces of different weights, instead of rebalancing the whole tube. A stainless counterweight rides on a shaft carried by a 6061-T6 aluminium base with a stainless insert; the base bolts to the rear mounting ring facing the observer, and loosening a thumb screw lets the weight slide fore and aft.
